The frozen city: Snow and ice covers Russian ghost town

An image taken from above shows how the snow has even formed a layer over the roofs of the buildings. Other images show how abandoned lorries have been buried during the snowfall.  Migration out of the region each year from 2013 has turned some settlements into ghost towns amid the freezing temperatures and rising unemployment. The coal-mining town of Vorkuta is known as the easternmost and the coldest town in Europe, with short, cool summers and extremely cold and snowy winters.
